Press Release Body: Tampa, FL, August 04, 2008 -- The FL-3 Airboat Search and Rescue team, in conjunction with the American Airboat Search and Rescue Association, is proud to announce the launch of Bark ArkŪ, an emergency pet and animal flood rescue project.
Based in Tampa, Florida, the Bark ArkŪ is a specialized rescue program specifically designed for the emergency rescue, evacuation of pets, animals and livestock in flood-affected areas.
The mission of the Bark ArkŪ project is to access, evacuate and relieve the suffering of animals, pets and livestock stricken by flooding.
The Bark ArkŪ project has been under development since Hurricane Katrina and the devastating flooding of New Orleans. The recent flooding in the midwestern United States re-enforced the need for a rapidly deployable animal rescue team and the Bark ArkŪ fulfills that need.
The Bark ArkŪ team is available to state and federal agricultural and wildlife agencies, national, state and local humane societies and veterinary organizations.
Upon request, the Bark ArkŪ team can deploy within 24 hours, anywhere within the United States, with specialized flood rescue watercraft that can rapidly access and evacuated animals stranded by floodwater. In the event large numbers of domestic animals are isolated by floodwaters, the Bark ArkŪ team can deliver feed and veterinary care to stranded animals. The Bark ArkŪ team is also capable of herding livestock from flooded land to high ground.
Pre-need agreements are encourage, but emergency response is available.
The Bark ArkŪ is funded entirely by private donations. To learn more about the Bark ArkŪ and how to contribute visit the FL-3 Airboat SAR web site at: www.airboatsar.org or call: 813-355-1103. Press release distributed by PressReleasePoint(http://www.pressreleasepoint.com/)
